Hello everyone, their is a misconception on how dryer vent fire really start. I have been trying to educate my clients on this exact topic. Here you go dryer fires really start inside of the dryers, not inside of the vent. Let me explain. If you have a gas dryer you have a fire inside of your dryer, so once their is enough of dryer lint inside of your dryer that is when a dryer fire could potentially start. I always tell my clients to clean their dryer vent every 1 to 3 years depending on how much drying you do and to clean inside of the dryer every 3 years. Hope this helps.
